Dear Parents / Carers
The children have settled really well into their new classes. It’s a real pleasure to walk around the school and see them engrossed in their learning.
Learning this week The children in Year 1 have been jumping into hoops and doing different kinds of maths challenges. Year 2 have been writing about homes and in Maths have been adding 10’s to numbers. In Science the Year 3 classes have been sorting electricity items and in Maths they have been comparing numbers up to 1000. 4 Larch have been investigating the appearance and personality of Hiccup from “How to Train Your Dragon” whilst 4 Larch have been classifying sources of light. Year 5 have been writing diaries and placing value on numbers. In Maths Year 6 have been rounding numbers to the nearest 10,100 and 1000 and have been learning how to write a balanced argument.

Health and Safety Message. Please remind your children that they are not allowed to ride their scooters and bikes anywhere on the school premises – inside or outside.
PTFA General Meeting, Tues 15 Sept 9.00am - 10.00am in the Outdoor Classroom (wooden gazebo in KS1 playground). Everyone is very welcome. You won't be asked to commit to anything, but it is an opportunity to have a say in what we fund raise for this year & get involved in up and coming events.
PTFA Social, Weds 23 Sept 9.00am - 10.00am at Mrs Brown's Cafe (or City Farm Cafe if raining). This is just a chance to meet up & chat. We are a friendly, welcoming bunch and would love to see some new faces. Every parent & carer is automatically a member of the PTFA, so please do come along for a cuppa.
Art on The Hill Exhibition, Sat 3 Oct 10am - 4pm. The entrance to the exhibition will be through the main gate into the playground. This is going to be a fantastic day, a chance to see the amazing art work that has been produced by all of the children as well as having a go at some of our brilliant workshops. There will be tea and cake and lots to do. Please do come along!
We are still looking for volunteers to help us to run the cake stall and the cafe and to help with the running of the workshops. If you can spare a couple of hours of your time we would be extremely grateful. Please contact us on firstname.lastname@example.org
