Dear Parents / Carers
Thank you for supporting Children in Need by sending your children into school dressed as their heroes today - we have had some amazing costumes and the children have loved it.
This week the nursery classes have been baking bread and learning about the Little Red Hen. The reception classes have given time to think what they are good at and also about poppies and the people who died in wars. Year 1 have been learning about the countries of the world. Year 2 have been writing their own ending for the story of Cinderella. Year 3 have been learning more about Howard Carter and planning their own Egyptian stories. Year 4 have been ordering decimals in Maths and writing narratives in Literacy. Year 5 have been focusing their writing on Moby Dick whilst Year 6 have been innovating their story map and creating persuasive writing.

Attendance: Look out for the latest attendance figures on our website:-

Reception places 2016. If you, or anyone you know, would like your child to start in our school reception class in September 2016 please ask at the office to arrange a tour of the school with
Ms Payne. Please remember that a place in our nursery does not guarantee your child a place in our reception class – you will need to apply for a place through the Local Authority.
PTFA: Winter Fair Volunteers - we have had lots of wonderful volunteers and we are almost there. We are still in need of someone to fill one early slot (12.45-2.15pm) and three of the later slots (2.15-4.00pm). If anyone can fill these gaps it would be a huge help. Please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
Donations - Please could you bring any donations for the wreath making workshops (berries, pine cones, small Christmas decorations, bells etc) to the workshop or to the office. The next wreath making workshop will be held on 20 November from 9.00 am to 12.00 noon in the curriculim kitchen. We will also be collecting donations of sweets, toys and books on the gate next week (week beginning 16 November). Could you please bring cake donations to school either on Friday 20 November after school or on the morning of Saturday 21 between 9.00am and 1.00pm and world food donations on the Saturday morning before the fair as we don't have access to a fridge overnight.
Wrapping Evening- We will be holding a wrapping evening on Thursday 19 November from
7.30 pm at Lisa Kirkland’s house, 82 Raymend Rd, BS3 4QW. This involves wrapping lots of presents and packing up sweets for the sweet raffle. It is always a fun evening. We would appreciate any help that you can give. Please e-mail us on email@example.com if you can make it so that we have an idea of the numbers.
Winter Fair, Saturday 21 November, 1.00-4.00 pm, School Hall. This is set to be a fantastic day, we hope to see as many of you as possible. Come along and enjoy Santa’s grotto, crafts, games, stalls selling Christmas gifts and cards, cakes and world food. Coming along to the Winter Fair is a great way to support the school and help raise funds for the year ahead.
We look forward to seeing you!
Many Thanks, Jo, Katie, Lisa, Hannah and Egle (PTFA Committee)
