Highlights at SMR this week: We held a great Sports Day for Reception, Years 1, 2 and 3 on Monday morning – the children were so pleased to be able have a sports day this year as last year it was cancelled due to the weather 3 times! Year 6 had the most successful Mini-Enterprise Sale ever and went to Za-Za Bazaar on Wednesday to celebrate. The Year 1 classes have all gone to Blaise Castle today where they will learn all about life as a Victorian. They all looked brilliant as they went off in costume this morning!

Reminders: Parents/carers who wish to speak to school staff at the start of the school day must come to the Main Office, via Windmill Close. Please do not try to walk through the school building via the doors used by the children. This request is made in order to ensure the safety of all our children on site and we thank you for your cooperation.


Lost Property: If you think your child is missing any items please come to the office and ask to check lost property. Anything not collected by the end of term will be given to charity.


Celebration Service: Our Whole School End of Year Service will be held at School on Wednesday 19 July 9.30-10.30 am. The service will be held in the top playground if the weather is fine or in the school hall if it is raining. If we are outside, you are welcome to join us (entrance through the park gates to the top playground). Nursery Maple children may come with their parent / carer. If it is raining we will be in the hall and we are sorry that there will not be room for parents / carers to attend. We will text you on the Wednesday morning to let you know if we will be in the Hall.


Year 6: Tickets for Y6 parents/carers are available for the Leavers’ performance (Tuesday 18 July at 2.00pm and Wednesday 19 July at 6.30pm) from the office. Tickets are free, but limited to two tickets per child. We will keep a waiting list for each performance and let parents and carers know if any more tickets are available on Monday.

Year 6 Leavers’ Assembly (Friday 21 July at 9.30am - 10.20am) – Y6 parents and carers welcome.


PTFA NEWS: The last big event for this term is the Annual Summer Picnic at Victoria Park on the slope by Mrs Brown's Cafe on Friday July 21 – see you there!


Parent/Governor Elections: The election of Parent Members for the Local Board is now underway; please bring your vote to the ballot box in the office before 9am Thursday 20 July.


Another Missing PE Bag: A child in Year 4 has mislaid their PE kit – It's been missing for almost 2 weeks.

ART ON THE HILL 2017: Art on The Hill 2017 is on Saturday October 7 and Sunday October 8 and the school will be open on the Saturday in order to exhibit the children’s work and offer a day of art.

Please contact Tess McNab or Tom Germain if you would like to run an art activity for the children for some of the day. This has been a great community event in the past and all help is appreciated.


Community News: Come on our free Wildlife Group wildflower walk in the park on Saturday July 15 at 2.30pm and learn the names of our gorgeous wildflowers. Please visit to book.


A new Scout pack for Redcliffe at Faithspace! Interested in helping to run a Cub or Beaver Scout pack locally? We already have someone keen to be a Cub leader and others interested in helping in this great opportunity for local children. We still need Leaders and Helpers and Committee members in order to start. If you would like to help local children by helping us to form a weekly group, or want to know more please contact us.
