Secondary School Places: If your child was born between 1st September 2006 and 31 August 2007 you will need to apply for a secondary school place by 31st October 2017. You will need to apply online, you can see the guide to applying at www.bristol.gov.uk/schooladmissions . If you have any queries or need assistance with your application pleases come to the school office or ask to see Mr Williams, the Family Link Worker.

SMSA Position: There is job available in school as an SMSA (School Meal Supervisory Assistant). If you or anyone you know are interested in this please come to the school office and ask for an application form. This is a great opportunity to work with children and to get back into work after maternity leave.

Whole School Art Day: On Wednesday 27 September the children will be doing a range of exciting activities based on the work of Paul Klee. This will be exhibited as part of the community art event, Art on The Hill on Saturday October 7. We would appreciate any help you can offer in supporting children with their art work. This could be an hour, a morning or the whole day and don’t worry you do not have to be an expert! Please see your class teacher if you can help.  KS2 classes will need lots of corrugated card for the main art piece/activity which is a big textured card collage of Bristol - please could you start to collect it at home and it would be best to bring it in on the day only as there is very limited storage in school.  Thank you for your support in continuing to make our school a creative place.  Tess McNab

PTFA NEWS: It was great to see so many of you at the ‘Tea and Tissues’ event, thanks to everyone who came along. We’re now looking for volunteers for Art on the Hill on Saturday October 7. Please email smr_ptfa@hotmail.co.uk if you can spare an hour between 10 and 4pm. We will also be hosting a school uniform sale this term, so watch this space. Thanks to everyone for all the continued support, it makes all the difference.

Thank you – Mary, Wendy, Rob, Jackie, Natalie, Kath and Rose – PTFA
