15 April 2016

Dear Parents /Carers,

We hope that you all enjoyed a good holiday.  Please can we remind Year 6 parents and carers to accept their child’s offer for a secondary school place (unless there is an appeal in process), and also let you know that Monday 18 April is offer day for Reception places.  Bristol City Council will send out the offers, not school.  Can we also remind parents and carers to send children in to school with a raincoat during the changeable weather.

This week Reception classes have studied rainforest maps and animals.  Year 1 have learned which animals live in the water, children have also made potions.  Year 2 have been reading ‘Fantastic Mr Fox’ and measuring capacity.  Year 3 have been making maths sentences with money.  Year 4 have been looking at what is in their bodies.  Year 5 have learning multiples of 12 and the ‘Tadpole’s Promise’.  Year 6 have been noticing patterns in numbers and looking at different types of volcanoes. All classes in KS2 have been to Windmill Hill City Farm and taken part in some planting.

PTFA News:  PTFA SOCIAL - Friday 22 April, 9am at the City Farm cafe. Come along for a cuppa and chat, it's always lovely to see new faces.

PTFA AGM - Tuesday 26 April, 3.30-4.30pm, School Hall. The PTFA need as much support as possible at this meeting. Without enough people attending we cannot vote in the committee. We would really appreciate any of you that can come along, you won't be expected to commit to anything, but we need numbers to hold the vote. It's also a chance to hear about the future of the PTFA. Tea, cake and childcare will be provided and there will also be a second hand uniform sale. Please come if you can.

LEAVERS EVENT - The PTFA usually pays for the leavers’ event but we need Year 6 parents to run it with our support. Please would you let us know if any of you would like to take this on. This will need to be organised soon so that a date can be booked in.

Many thanks, Jo, Katie, Lisa, Hannah and Egle (PTFA Committee)
