16th June 2017
Highlights at SMR this week: Reception classes had a fantastic day at @Bristol on Tuesday and the Nursery classes went to Weston-Super-Mare on Wednesday where they had a brilliant day at the seaside. Years 4, 5 and 6 have participated in Sports Day today; congratulations and well done to all involved. We will reschedule the Reception, Years 1, 2 and 3 Sports Day as soon as we can.
Super Learner and Value Champion Certificates will return next week, there aren’t this week due to Sports Day.
Teachers and children will be updating their class pages on the website regularly. Do look at what they are all learning at http://www.stmaryredcliffeprimary.co.uk/class-pages/
Reminders: Please can we remind parents/carers to label all belongings that come into school, especially clothing and PE kit. As the weather is so changeable at the moment, please can you remember to send your child into school with a labelled jumper and a raincoat.
Last week for Sainsbury’s Vouchers: If you still have any Sainsbury’s vouchers lying around at home, could you please bring them into the office as we need to collate them and send them off by 30th June.
Amendment – apologies the Breakfast Club times were incorrect on last week’s newsletter: The club runs from 8.00am and serves breakfast until 8.30am. The club currently costs £1 per child which is payable either on the door or online. There is no need to book, just bring your child to the red door (beyond the main reception door), the doors close at 8.35am.
New Intake for Nursery and Reception September 2017: Nursery will be closed to children currently attending on Wednesday 21 June so that new starters can spend the day in school. There will be meetings for parents and carers of children starting in Reception in 2017 on Wednesday 21 June at 2.00pm and Thursday 22 June at 6.00pm.
PTFA News/Messages: Good luck to the country dancing team who are off to Wells for a dance competition tomorrow with their brand new banner! Thank you to everyone who has volunteered to help at the Summer Fair on July 1. We still have lots of slots to fill, so please get in touch if you can help for an hour or two by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
