Behaviour Policy. We have made a slight change to our school behaviour system. Rather than give out orange and red cards the children now move their own name onto a traffic light on the wall in the classroom. This allows children to think about their behaviour and to change it if they are not making the right choices. All children start every session on green. We have also introduced a yellow/gold light. Children will be moved on to this for amazing behaviour. We will review the effectiveness of this new system at the end of term 1.

PTFA.  Art on The Hill Exhibition, Saturday 3 Oct, 10am - 4pm - Entry through the gate in the top playground. This is going to be a fantastic day, a chance to see the huge sculptures designed and created by all the children in the school. There will be some amazing workshops, we have kite making, screen printing and we are going to be making mandalas in the playground using all those natural materials that you have been collecting. You will also be able to buy tea and cake from our vintage cafe and cake stall. Please, if you are donating cake and you haven't already brought it to school, could you bring your donations with you on the day of the exhibition. We really hope to see as many of you there as possible, the children are very excited to show off their hard work, you will be very proud!

PTFA Social, Friday 9 Oct, 9am onwards, City Farm cafe - Come along and have a chat and a cuppa. The social is very informal, just a chance to take a break and meet new people. We would love to see you!

PTFA Newsletter - You should have received our autumn newsletter in your bookbags last Friday. This gives full details of all the exciting events that we have planned so far. If you didn't receive it, you can download it on the PTFA page of the school website:  http://www.stmaryredcliffeprimary.co.uk/ptfa/

Safety issues: Lighting - Installation of lighting in the park between the park gates and St Luke’s Road has been delayed for a further year.  If you wish to make a complaint about this please contact the local councillors by email – deb.joffe@bristol.gov.uk and sam.mongon@bristol.gov.uk

Coats - Please remind children to bring a coat with them to school with them every day.

Hair Straighteners – There have been some accidents recently involving children with hair straighteners.  Please ensure children are supervised when using straighteners.

Bikes in School – please remind your children not to park their bikes next to the green shed in the top playground as this blocks access to the PE store.  We will try and get more bike racks.

Smoking in Cars – please remember that it is against the law to smoke in cars when transporting children under the age of 18.

Drinking Water is always available for children at lunchtime.  We will remind the children to make sure they drink.

Residents Parking Zone. Please note that the Residents Parking Zone in Southville and Bedminster is now in force.
