Term 6 Documents
This week we have been working so hard doing our tricky booklets. Everyone tried so hard and gave them 110%. We have also been choosing our own learning outside and watching Fantastic Mr Fox!
Today we have been making our own amazing animals out of salt dough, it was incredibly messy!
I would like to say that I have been so proud of every single member of Willow class, their determination has been a pleasure to see. Well done Willow, I think you are all amazing :) Miss Barker.
This week in Numeracy we have been doing function machines, they have one, two or three functions to do! We have also been doing divide and the 5x tables. In RE we have been looking at where we belong and we have been making people paper chains with all the members of our family. Today we went outside and pretended to be a small fox that needed help underground. We had to make our paper really dirty and mucky! We also went on a mini beast hunt!

In Numeracy we have been learning to use arrays to work out tricky multiplication sums, as well as using all our skills to complete work booklets. Everyone has tried so hard.
In Literacy we have been reading Fantastic Mr Fox, writing invitations to his party and we also did a conscience alley to decide whether we were 'team Mr Fox' or 'team Badger'
We have been learning our Spring Show song, already it is amazing! we are looking forward to performing it.
Term 5 documents
This week we have been learning about Fractions! We have been folding paper into 1/4, 1/2 and 1/3, we have been drawing fractions in our books and we have been trying to convince Thinking Tom that you can't split all even numbers into quarters equally.
In RE we were looking at the story 'The boy who threw stones at trees' from the Qur'an, we acted out the story in small groups, please look at our pictures below.
In Literacy we have created our own Bong Tree island with lots of activities to do. We each have a job and we drew this on a HUGE piece of paper!
Yesterday in Jigsaw we were thinking about calm and stress. We looked at pictures and decided if the people were relaxed or stress. We decided that being calm is the best way to be.
It's Term 4!
This week we have been really busy learning about time and also The Owl and the Pussycat. We created puppets and acted the poem out with them. Please see our pictures below...

Term 4 documents
This week we have been learning about Fractions, half, quarters and thirds. Have a look at our pictures below of us counting objects and sorting them in thirds.
We also have been writing our own Journey Problem and Resolution stories, we will be finishing them today. We have been practising our vowels and consonants with a very tricky game, have a try at playing it at home:
We have been practising our dance and we are looking forward to performing it in a couple of weeks!
This week we have been writing our own Problem and Resolution for Mrs Armitage on Wheels. In science we have been learning about materials, we went on a hunt around school to look for different materials.
We have also been practising our Olympic dance which we will be performing at Ashton Park School. We are getting really good at it!
In Numeracy we been looking at inverse and number families, it was really tricky but now we are experts!
In spelling we have been looking at contractions, ask me what they are...
Mrs Armitage's Vechicle
This week we have started our new topic Mrs Armitage's Vehicle, we have been learning the story in Talk for Writing. In music we created a soundscape of a busy city using body percussion and in RE we have been looking at our special books. We then looked at The Bible which is a special book for Christians.
We have also been creating tally charts and bar graphs.
Term 3 Documents
This week we watched a puppet show all about Diwali, we then drew pictures about the characters from the story.
This week we planned our own Wishing Tales! We have been writing our opening, build up and problem. Today we have to finish our stories with the resolution and the ending. The stories are brilliant!!!
This week have been learning about patterns. We have been making shape patterns and also number patterns.
This week we have started learning our songs for Christmas, we are very excited to start practising next week.
We also have been composing our own songs using hand bells, see the pictures below!
This week in Literacy we have been learning all about Cinderella! We had a parcel and we opened it, inside there was a shoe. We guessed that it might belong to Cinderella...
This week we have been looking at Homophones. A homophone is a word that sounds the same but is spelt different.
We have also been learning about Tashlich, this is what Jewish people do, it means throwing away our sins. We wrote things we are sorry for on paper and put them in a bowl of water. The ink washed away and so did the things we are sorry for!
In Numeracy we have been using addition and subtraction calculations to make 50. We have also been working out our number pairs.
This week we have had such a busy week! We hope you enjoyed The Great Fire of London: The Musical. We were so proud of ourselves!
Also we have been ordering events on a timeline about the Great Fire of London, creating pictures and building Lego buildings.
In Numeracy we have been practising adding amounts of money, using 1p, 2p, 5p, and 10p coins. In RE we have been learning the story of Jonah and the Whale, Jewish people listen to the story on Yom Kippur because it's a story about saying sorry.
We have been listening to lots of songs, including Odd Todd and Even Steven, Kings and Queens and Charles II.
We only have 2 more days left of this term before we start our brand new topic...
This week we have been learning about London. We had a workshop all about The Great Fire of London where we acted out the story. In Literacy we were a new TFW story, London's Burning. We also have been practising our play, we can't wait to show everyone at home our amazing singing, dancing and acting!
In Numeracy we have been doing take away, using bags of ten. We are now superstars at tens and units.
We have been continuing to look at our plants in Science, some of them are very tall and some of them haven't poked above the soil yet. Fingers crossed they will grow soon!
This week we went to the park to continue adding information to our talk for writing text; All About Bristol. We took photos of all the things we could do in the park and then had a play in the play park!
In Science we have been looking at what plants need to grow, we have been planting peas and beans. We also started an experiment to see if plants can grow in the dark. Ask us what we changed and what we kept the same.
In maths we have been practically exploring tens and units. This was very tricky maths and we are all very proud of ourselves!
This week we have been learning All About Bristol for our Talk for Writing. We have been looking at the famous explorer John Cabot- he sailed on The Matthew to find Asia but he ended up in North America! Also, we drew pictures of monsters and described them using adjectives.
In Numeracy we were solving ice cream problems, working out how much each scoop costed. In RE we thought about our feelings when we said sorry and when we forgive people. In Jigsaw this week we have been passing around Jigsaw Joe and talking about rewards.
In PE we have been making letters out of our bodies, take a look at our amazing photos on our We Love Learning board in the classroom and try and guess what letter we made! In Art with Mrs H we have been making collages.
