23 March 2016
Dear Parents /Carers,
Today we enjoyed a keyboard and trumpet performance in assembly and children in years 3, 4, 5 and 6 enjoyed a Travelling Light show at Windmill Hill City Farm. A selection of KS1 children helped with some tree planting and also visited the Church for an Easter themed workshop. Just to let you know that the total collected for Sport Relief was £179.60 – thank you so much for your generous donations.
Please can we remind parents to accept their child’s offer for a secondary school place (unless there is an appeal in process).
We are saying a sad farewell to Claire Waters, Vicky Allies and Lynne Ford today and wish them well and good luck in the future.
Attendance: Look out for the latest attendance figures on our website: www.stmaryredcliffeprimary.co.uk
Keeping your child safe online and on social media: There is now a new section on our website on how to use PEGI ratings for choosing safe games for your child:
After School Clubs: Children who have been selected for After School Clubs will receive a letter today in their book-bags. Places are limited in clubs and we cannot give every child their first choices. Clubs will start the second week back after the holiday (18 March), this includes Allotment Club.
Message from Mr Fry: St Mary Redcliffe Primary School has been chosen to complete an experiment involving space seeds from the International Space Station. If you're interested in helping during the first week back after Easter holiday please let Mr Fry know.
PTFA News: A big thank you to everyone who helped with our Easter Egg Hunt yesterday, thank you so much to everyone who took part. We raised a fantastic £150 and it was lovely to see everyone having such a great time.
• We are holding a social get-together at The Windmill pub this evening (Wednesday 23 March) from 7.30pm onwards. Everyone very welcome. Come along and celebrate the start of the Easter Holidays!
• Please do come to our AGM 3.30-4.30pm on Tuesday 26 April. Childcare and refreshments will be provided. We need enough people to attend to vote the committee in, so that we can continue to keep the PTFA running to keep organising fun events and raising money for the school. We are still looking for people to stand as Chair and Treasurer. If you would like more information on this, please email email@example.com, or leave a message with the office.
• There will be a second hand uniform stall at our AGM. We would love donations of any out-grown uniform that is still in good condition. Please bring to the office after the Easter holiday.
• IMPORTANT NEWS! Plant Sale date changed from Thursday 12 May to Thursday 19 May, 3.30pm in the Playground.
Have a lovely Easter everyone! Jo, Hannah, Lisa, Katy and Egle (PTFA Committee)
Park Run: There is a wonderful junior parkrun every Sunday in Victoria Park. It is 2km and for children (4-14). We already have great runners from school involved but more are welcome!
