Dear Parents /Carers,


This week Nursery classes have been building bridges and making trolls to support their learning of The Billy Goat’s Gruff story.  In Reception the classes have been learning about Africa and have been tasting the fruit from the Handa’s Surprise story.  Year 1 have been learning about fractions and have been halving treasure.  Year 2 enjoyed a visit from the Owl Man and his owls and have been writing stories about The Owl and The Pussycat.  Year 3 have learnt about football and multiplication.  Year 4 have been exploring regular and irregular shapes and have written their own endings to The Railway children story.  Year 5 have been exploring 3 dimensional shapes and performing drama inspired by The Highwayman.  In Year 6 classes have been writing and publishing stories about Harris Burdick using their ICT skills.

Keeping your child safe online and on social media:  Check out our new website page which contains information to support parents and carers to protect children on line


School Meals.  Please remember to let the school office know if your child is going to be arriving late into school, eg following a medical appointment..  If they will be requiring a school dinner it needs to be ordered by 10 am at the latest so that accurate numbers can be provided to the kitchen.


PTFA News.  World Book Day, Thurs 3rd March. Please bring your donations of books to the school gates on Mon, Tues or Wed morning.  Every class will  visit our book stall on Thursday & children can buy one book for 50p. Please could you tape 50p to a piece of card, with your child's  name on it, & give this to their class teacher by Thursday morning. Your child can also come in dressed as their favourite book character & make a donation to Book Aid International in the collection buckets on the gates. We are very excited to invite KS1

(reception and year 1) to a bedtime story evening on Thursday, from 6pm-6.45pm.  The children are welcome to come into school in their pyjamas or fancy dress costume, to listen to a bedtime story and have a hot chocolate. Parents can stay while children are having their stories. Tea and cake will be on sale in the hall and there will be a book swap for adults. 

PTFA Social, Wednesday 9 March, 9.00am onwards at the City Farm cafe. Come along and join us for a cuppa. Everyone is welcome.

Easter Egg Hunt, Tuesday 22 March, 3.30pm - 4.15pm in the playground. We need 10 people to help with this.  Please email or leave a message with the office if you can help.

PTFA Annual General Meeting, Tuesday 26 April, 3.30pm-4.30pm, School Hall.  We need as many parents as possible to come along to this meeting so that we can vote in the new committee. If there aren't enough parents to vote, the PTFA can't continue.
