Dear Parents / Carers
‘Tis (almost) the season to be jolly and we are starting to feel festive in school. A group of children went to choose the Christmas tree yesterday and will be decorating it today and everyone is rehearsing hard for the Christmas plays.
Learning in school this week has seen the nursery classes have a visit from the ‘Little Red Hen’ who taught them how to make pizza and then delivered a fresh pizza to class. Reception have continued their theme of celebration by looking at Chinese Yew Year. Year 1 have been looking at shapes. Year 2 have learned a Cinderella spell and how to count up in 2’s. Years 3 have been learning about fossils and how to write a planned warning story. Year 4 have been playing a 7 times table game and writing an ending to an adventure story. Year 5 have noticed the patterns in shapes and re-written the end of ‘Moby Dick’ whilst Year 6 have learned about balanced diets and had maths and literacy assessments.
