What a wonderful term it has been so far. We have already learnt so much - particularly from our class book 'A Little Piece of Ground'. It has been challenging trying to understand what causes the conflict in Palestine but we have worked hard to understand the big issues.
We have also had... camp! What an incredible week it was. The children got stuck into a wide range of activities and had the time of their lives. The weather was stunning and the sun shone down upon us as we dragon boated across Weymouth Harbour.
We still have a fantastic, wide-ranging set of lessons to get stuck into as this is the first year of our new curriculum topics. Please take a look at our curriculum plan to see what we have in store for the year! If there are areas that you feel that you could talk to the children about then please let me know so we can plan in an opportunity for the children.
This term our topic theme is 'Giving Back'. It is a charity based topic where we'll be investigating the charity Water Aid with the aim of planning a fund-raising event this year.
In addition to our topic work, we'll be investigating light in science as well as sewing for our art project. If you would like to support the children during the sewing project then please let me know.
We all hope that you have an amazing year. If you have any questions or queries then please don't hesitate to come and speak to me.
