Dear Parents /Carers,
Welcome back, we hope that you have had a restful holiday and would like to wish you a happy New Year. Due to the short week there have been no certificates this week, but Nursery had a visit from a theatre group and Year 2 have taken part in a dance workshop amongst other things. Everyone has settled happily back into lessons and we’ll let you know what the children have been doing to further their learning next week.

Illness Notification: For your information we have the following illnesses reported by parents of children who attend school: Shingles, Chicken Pox and Scarlet Fever. If you suspect your child might have Scarlet Fever symptoms please make an appointment to see your doctor as this needs treatment with antibiotics.
DEADLINE: Reception Admission – September 2017: Parents/carers with children born between 01 September 2012 and 31 August 2013 are should have made an application for reception admission in September 2017.

The closing date for all applications is midnight 15 January 2017.

E-Safety Meeting for Parents/Carers: There will be a meeting at school on Tuesday 24 January at 6.00pm in the School Hall for parents and carers which will give guidance on how to keep your children safe on-line. All are welcome to attend.
Extra-Curricular Activities: Clubs and music lessons start again next week.
PTFA NEWS: General Meeting, Friday 20 January, 9.00am-10.00am, KS2 (Upper) Kitchen. It would be lovely to have as many parents/carers as possible at the general meeting. It is a great way to find out more about the PTFA and what we do and also to have an input into future events. Community News: Filwood Quietway Cycle Path: The period for making comments on this planning application will come to an end on 11 January 2017. Bristol City Council is seeking planning approval for a new cycle route through Victoria Park as part of a ‘Quietway’ from Filwood to the city centre. Plans for the path location, path width, park entrances and lighting have serious implications for your park.
