6th May 2016

Dear Parents /Carers,

This week the Nursery classes have been learning about ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’ and they have made edible caterpillars. Reception classes visited the zoo and saw gorillas.  Year 1 classes learned about amphibians and learned how to count back from 100.  Year 2 have learned how to do arrays and made a conscience alley for Mr Fox and badger.  Year 3 have been telling the time with roman numerals and been making spiders in art.  Year 4 have had a debate about healthy eating and learned about Alexander Fleming and penicillin. Year 5 also visited the zoo and made sketches and reports from their day there.  Year 6 have been learning how to change numbers into improper fractions and writing escape stories.

A special well done to our girls’ football team, who won five out of five of their games on Thursday and are through to next week’s finals.

If you are interested in supporting your PTFA without taking on a committee role come along and find out how you can get involved. We would love to see lots of you there.

MEADOW FLOWER SEEDING - We will be seeding the meadow flower slopes at the front of the school next week and would love some volunteers to help with this project. We will be working on this on Thursday 12 May from 1pm - 3pm and on Friday 13 May from 9am - 11am. Please just turn up, we would love your help.

PLANT SALE - Thursday 19 May - 3.30pm in the school playground. Donations of plants would be really appreciated. Please bring in any donations of plants in the morning. We will be needing volunteers to help set up from 1.30pm and also to help with the plant sale and refreshments after school. Come along and pick up a bargain plant or two!
