Attendance:  Look out for the latest attendance figures on our website:-

Victoria Park.  Please remember this is a huge space, used by the public.  Sometime some of our children are not behaving appropriately, eg urinating in the bushes, throwing stones, fighting.  Please could you remind your children, as indeed we have, to be aware of other park users and to behave sensibly.

All parents received a text yesterday about an incident in the park toilets.  Please don’t hesitate to call the police (101 or 999 if someone is in in danger) if you see anything that concerns you in the park, eg motorcycles, drug or sex litter.

Road Safety.  Please do not park on double yellow lines or pavements around the school (particularly in Whitehouse Street) when you are bringing or collecting your child from school.  It is not only illegal but also very unsafe for other people.

If you have concerns about the use of zebra crossings in St Luke’s Road or St John’s Lane please email the school or speak to someone in the school office.  I am in discussion with local councillors about road safety in the area around school and any anecdotal information would be helpful.

Parenting Course 2 October to 11 December. Places are still available for the parenting course at school on Fridays, 9.00 to 11.00.  Please ask at the office.  Free crèche available.

Conkers!  We recently led an assembly about how to play conkers and the history of the game. Each class has a poster explaining the rules for our school. We can play conkers outside during play times, but conkers need to be put away during lessons and whilst walking around the school. For some tips on how to improve your conker striking skills, please visit our team's page on the school website. Have fun, from The Great Outdoors Team!

Year 6 Secondary School places.  Please remember the deadline for applying for secondary school places is 31 October 2015.  This needs to completed on-line.  Mr Williams is happy to help with this – just ask at the office and they will pass a message to him.

Reception places 2016.  If you, or anyone you know, would like your child to start in our school reception class in September 2016 please ask at the office to arrange a tour of the school with

Ms Payne.  Please remember that a place in our nursery does not guarantee your child a place in our reception class – you will need to apply for a place through the Local Authority.

PTFA.  The Art Exhibition was a huge success, thank you so much to those of you who volunteered to help out beforehand and on the day and to all those who donated cakes. It really was a team effort. You as parents are all part of the PTFA and without you we couldn't run these fantastic events.
