Learning this week Children throughout the school this week have been developing their skills in the performing arts ready to present their performances to you. They are looking good! Of course they are still working on other aspects of their learning – Nursery have been exploring about decorating Christmas trees, Reception classes have been developing their number skills, Year 1 have been printing. As part of their party planners topic, Year 2 held a party in the hall to celebrate Cinderella’s marriage to Prince Albert! Year 3 have written stories about defeating the monster and have been working with fractions. Year 4 have investigated shadows in their Science lessons. Year 5 have been writing stories and designing pirate flags. Year 6 have made models of houses.

Applying for a place at a primary school If you have a child who was born between
1 September 2010 and 31 August 2011 you must apply for a reception place before
15 January 2015. Bristol City Council prefers that you apply online at www.bristol.gov.uk/schooladmissions. Please remember that even if your child attends our Nursery you must still complete an application. Our Family Link Worker, Mr Williams will be happy to help you.
PERFORMANCE TICKETS Tickets are still available to purchase from the school office for all performances (maximum of 2 tickets per child). Please ensure you purchase your tickets before the end of the day on Wednesday 10 December. From Thursday 11 December any unsold tickets will be made available to people who have requested more than two tickets.
SINGLE PARENT/CO-PARENTIING GROUP Every Monday, 9.15–10.15 am.
This group has been set up to run every Monday in the School House (next to the KS1 playground). Please come along for a chat – tea and coffee provided!
CAKE SALE WEDNESDAY 10 DECEMBER 3.30-4.00 PM Our Guinea Pig Team have organised a Cake Sale as Stevie and Squeakers, the two guinea pigs, need a constant supply of food, hay and sawdust. They also need a new pet carrier and items for their cage. If you would like to bring cakes for the sale please leave them at the office on Wednesday morning. We hope to see you at the sale!
PTFA News We would like to thank everyone for the work they put into running the Winter Fair last Saturday and a big thank you to everyone who came along to support us. It was a really lovely event and it looks like we have raised approx. £2,000. Please look out for PTFA meeting dates in the New Year when we will be talking about what we plan to spend funds on.
Christmas Social - Wednesday 10th December 7.30pm Windmill Pub Everyone is invited to join us for a get-together next Wednesday, this is NOT a PTFA meeting, just the chance to relax and chat, please come - we promise not to ask you to do anything!
DISCO FRIDAY 12 DECEMBER 6-7.30PM – SCHOOL HALL Tickets are still available to purchase from the school office. Reception Class to Year 6 children only - £1.50 per child.

ST MARY REDCLIFFE CHURCH CHOIR St Mary Redcliffe Church is looking for new recruits Years 3-6 for its separate choirs of boys and girls. Andrew Kirk, Director of Music at the church visited school recently to give a talk.
