Term 1

Welcome to St Mary Redcliffe and welcome back to our Nursery children!

We hope you have had a brilliant summer and you are ready for a fun and exciting year! We look forward to seeing everyone's new shoes!

Our PPA day is Tuesday where the children will be having their art and music sessions.

It has been great to meet so many of you on our home visits and finding out more about you.

We will update some photos of our learning soon!

Mr Marquez-Vega

This week we have been exploring numbers from 6 to 10 and we have also been learning the sounds n, m, d, g and c. We also had a day of activities planned around Percy The Park Keeper and the Storm. These included leaf threading, roleplay, making woodland creatures, making boats and much more!

Please have a look in the 'Useful documents' section of our class page for the notes from our recent reading meeting and a sound mat showing the pictures on the sound cards we use in school. These pictures help the children with their letter formation. For example "Around the apple and down the leaf" for the letter 'a'

We have really enjoyed listening to all the children read to us this week...and hearing about their reading at home.

Have a great weekend

Mr Marquez

We have started our phonics learning; hopefully you have been able to make it for the Reading Meeting to learn more about phonics.  This week we have focused on s, a, t, p and i; I am expecting you to hear our Jolly Phonic songs!  We are also learning and understanding the first 5 digits, what they look like and where they are in a number line.

I have put a video of all the Jolly Phonics songs which include the actions!
