Welcome back to Year 2!
We hope you have had a brilliant summer and you are ready for a fun and busy year! We are very excited and have got a great year ahead planned.
Please bring in your PE kits ready for next week. Our PE days will be Thursday and Friday this term. Just a reminder that Miss Dudding will teacher Monday- Wednesday and Mrs Slinn will teach Thursday-Friday.
We have shared our overview for the term and some home learning ideas for you to enjoy at home.
We always welcome parent volunteers to support with 1:1 reading, so if you can spare an hour or two please do let us know.
We will update some photos of our learning soon!
Miss Dudding and Mrs Slinn
We are super proud of the way the children have taken on the challenges of Year 2. They are totally embracing all that we have been learning and using their knowledge and skills from both home and school to apply to their learning and understanding.
Please take time to look at the home learning grid with your child. We value all worked produced at home which links to what we are learning.
A highlight of this week has been planning and conducting a science investigation. We looked at the question 'As you get older do your body features get bigger?' We explored what this means and whether we thought it was true or false and our reasons to support our opinions. We then worked within a group to plan a way to investigate if this was true or false. We decided to collect data on either people's feet or hands sizes, from a range of ages, from 3 years all the way to 50 years old! Next week, we will be examining the data we collected so we can record our results as well as learn how to interpret the findings, so watch this space!
