Welcome back to Year 2!
We hope you have had a brilliant summer and you are ready for a fun and busy year! We are very excited and have got a great year ahead planned.
Please bring in your PE kits ready for next week. Our PE days will be Thursday and Friday this term.
My PPA day is Thursday when the class will be taught art by Mrs H and PE by Akeel.
We have shared our overview for the term and some home learning ideas for you to enjoy at home.
We always welcome parent volunteers to support with 1:1 reading, so if you can spare an hour or two please do let us know.
We will update some photos of our learning soon!
In Year 2, we cooked vegetable soup for homeless people. First, we planned how we were going to make the soup. Then, we chopped carrots, potatoes, celery, garlic, leek and green pepper. After, we used a saucepan to boil all the vegetables with stock. Finally, we served and enjoyed it .
We made the vegetable soup for children to be aware what homeless people eat. Soup can be seen as a very healthy source with lots of energy!
Art on the hill
During Art day, parents and carers came into to school to help us create our paintings for Art on the hill. We began by using different techniques and sketching native British birds. Later we experimented with watercolour paints and pencils. We hope you can join us on Saturday 6th October when we will showcase our artistic creations!!
