Term 2

Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to say a big thank you for all your support with preparing the children for their Christmas Play and coming along to support them on their big day(s). We also had a great trip to the church this week for 'Treefest'. (See photos below along with some photos of the children looking spotty for children in need)

In literacy we have started learning the digraphs (two letter sounds) 'qu', 'sh', 'ch', and 'th'

We have also had a visit from a community Police Officer called Becky...she showed us some of the gadgets she uses in her job and the children asked her lots of interesting questions. In Maths we have been learning about teen numbers and we have practised counting backwards from 20.

More photos to follow soon

Mr Hewett

Welcome back...this term our topic is 'Our Beautiful Planet'...we have been looking at images and videos of our beautiful planet from space and looking at all the different habitats on planet Earth. We have also been exploring the story of Beegu the alien who crash lands on Earth and her experiences of being here. The children have started their outdoor PE sessions in Victoria Park and we have also visited the park for our first two Forest School sessions. In maths we have been looking at the properties of 2D shapes (sides and corners) and using language to explain the difference between similar shapes such as rectangles and squares. In our phonics lessons we have been concentrating on the skills of segmenting and blending before moving on to phase 3 sounds next week.

Photos of our recent learning can be seen below

Have a lovely weekend

Mr Hewett and Mrs Cornelius
