Our Christmas Show
Thank you all for coming to see our Christmas show. The children were AMAZING!
We celebrated the end of Term with a fantastic party and a special visitor even came with a present for us all!
Thank you for all your support this term. Have a great holiday and see you in January.
This week we have had a visit from the Little Red hen. She told us how her friends wouldn't help her make some bread. We felt sad for her so we said we would help her.
We discovered that wheat is used to make flour. We had a great ( and very messy!) time playing with the flour the Little Red Hen sent us. Then we made our own bread. We mixed the dough and then kneaded it. We left it in a warm place and it grew so big! We cooked it and then took it home to eat. It was delicious!
As part of our topic on Festivals we have been celebrating Diwali this week. We have learnt all about the story of Rama and Sita. We learnt that people light diva lamps at Diwlai to remember the story and that it is known as the Festival of light. we mad our own diva lamps from clay.
We also made rangoli patterns using coloured rice and chalks and mendhi patterns on hands.
We discovered there are some things that are the same and some things that are different from other festivals we celebrate. For example, at Christmas and Diwali we have lights and give presents and at Eid and Diwali we decorate our hands with henna and wear new clothes.
Welcome back to Nursery. we hope you had a lovely half term.
This term our topic is all about Special Times. We have been learning all about Bonfire Night and fireworks this week.
We listened to firework noises and moved liked fireworks exploding. We have also made lots of firework pictures. We printed, blew paint with straws, used chalks, collaged pictures of rockets and mad our own models of rockets. Have a look at the fantastic display of our work outside the classroom.
