Merry Christmas Everyone!!!
We have had such a fantastic term especially our Nativity play.

This week we have been learning about the Christmas story and thinking about how different families celebrate it. We have also been creating Christmas calendars and robins to add to our elves workshop. The children have been working hard in the elves workshop wrapping presents and writing Christmas list. In maths this week we have been learning about sharing we have been sharing presents between stockings.

This week we have been learning about the story of Diwali and how Hindu's celebrate this special time. We have been creating diva lamps from salt dough and Diwali lanterns. We also had a special visitor come in and help us make a large Rangoli pattern outside. In Maths this week we have been making Ravana (the demon king from the Diwali story) head bands who has 10 heads. This has been helping to write number 1-10 in order. We have also been making symmetrical patterns by creating Torans.

This week in Hawthorn class we have been learning about Guy Fawkes and creating some fantastic firework pictures. In maths we have started to learn our teen numbers and put them in order. In phonics we are moving on to segmenting and blending simple words using robot talk. The children have also been creating a giant rocket and learning some firework songs.
