We have had a busy term so far!
In English we have been writing our own warning stories and now finding out about leaflets. Next week we shall be visiting the harbour in Bristol and looking around the Mshed to find out more about the history of the area. We will then be using our findings to create our own leaflets on the Bristol harbour and the Avon Gorge. We have also been reading the legend of Goram & Vincent, the Bristol Giants!
We have begun to learn the formal method of multiplication in maths, and we'll soon be learning the formal method of division too this term. Thank you to all the parents who came to our maths curriculum afternoon this week. It was a lot of fun playing the different maths games!
The rest of this term is jam-packed in the run up to Christmas. Some dates for your diary:
Tuesday 11th Dec: Morning - Old Vic Theatre trip to see The Christmas Carol
Wednesday 12th Dec: Morning - Year 3 Harbour walk and Mshed visit
Wednesday 19th Dec: Christmas jumper day
Thursday 20th Dec: Morning - Christmas church service at St Mary Redcliffe Church
Term 2 - How Can I Stay Safe?
This term we are finding out how to stay safe. We have already begun by taking part in some water safety sessions at the swimming pool on Thursday afternoons. We will also be exploring how to stay safe when using the internet and social media.
In Science will shall be investigating light & dark and in Maths we will begin learning about multiplication & division.
With Christmas coming at the end of the term, we are all looking forward to the KS2 trip to the Bristol Old Vic - more details to follow soon!
