In English we have been writing our own news reports about our trip to Cadbury World. We made sure we included the 5 W's in our introduction.

In Maths we have been continuing our learning about fractions and decimals. We made our own pairs game using equivalent decimals and fractions.

In Art we have been exploring different types of art pencils, ranging from 6B to 6H, through shading and mark making. We used this skill to create a sketch of cacao beans.

In Topic we have been using Publisher to design our own wrapping paper for our chocolate bars which we will make later on.

CADBURY WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!

Yesterday, we went on an amazing chococlate trip to Cadbury World in Bourneville, and it was snowing! Our day began with a tour around the factory where we learnt how chocolate was made, how Cadbury chocolate began and the history of chocolate. The 4D chocolate experience was CHOCTASTIC and FLABERGASTING! The chairs began to wobble and shake as the movie came out of the screen into our faces, becoming the factory owners travelling around on a hoverchair.  During our visit, we were lucky enough to go on the Cadabra ride, where we travelled around a city of cocoa beans during different time periods and seasons, with our high-viz jackets glowing in the cave.

ONLY A WEEK TO GO!

On Monday we went on a Chocolate Quest! We explored to find cacoa beans, farmed the land, pickers, then we became the beans!

ACTA came in on Tuesday and we made lanterns ready for the parade on Saturday. We made paper lanterns of boats using willow and special paper, it got a bit messy!!!

In English we have planned and written Charlie and the Chocoalte factory from the perspective of Violet Beaurgarde - the thrid winner who got blown up into a blueberry!

When solving  word problems in Maths we used our addition and subtraction skills. We found it a bit hard but persevered to the end.

In Maths we have been learning more about time, including 24 hour clock. On Friday we used our knowledge of time to solve a problem as part of a group.

In Science we have been asking scientific questions about 2 pictures of choclate, melted and solid.

In English we have been continuing reading Charlie and the Chocolate factory, and writing a balanced arguement about whether Wonkas Chocolate Factory should stay open. There were many reasons why it should stay open and closed.

We have been using the 3 primary colours to mix and create a colour wheel of different hues, including the secondary colours.

A brilliant start to a new term!

CHOCOLATE!!!!!!!!

We can't wait to explore our new topic - including a trip :)

In English we have been reading Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and thinking about how Charlie felt and what his thoughts were whilst he was standing outside the Chocolate factory, on his way to school.

In Maths we have focused on learning to tell the time using analogue and digital clocks, including consolidating our knowledge of o'clock, half past, quarter to and quarter past. Some of us became mini-teachers and helped our freinds to understand analogue clocks.

RE this term is focused on Hinduism. We will be learning more throughout the term.
