Term 3

week beginning 4.1.16

This week in English we have been learning about Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl. We have written a diary entry in first person as Charlie Bucket.

In maths we have been learning how to solve division problems. This was a bit tricky but we are confident that we will improve.

Our topic is CHOCOLATE!  The class were lucky enough to taste five types of chocolate of which we had to mark a score of zero to ten for taste, texture, what we liked and what we disliked.

Most of us hated the dark chocolate. The five types of chocolate were milk, dark, galaxy, white, Cadbury.

Tasting Chocolate!!!

Week beginning 11th January 2016

This week in 4 Hazel, we have been learning about fractions, including how the numerator tells us how many parts you want from it and the denominator tells you how many EQUAL parts it is divided into.

In English we have been making our own character based on Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. We created our own chapter for the book about how our character found their Golden Ticket!

In Topic we made own timeline to include different eras, including Aztecs, Egyptians, Celts, Romans, Tudors, Victorians, Stuarts and Vikings.

In Science we have been learning about solids, liquids and gas. Solids are teeny tiny molecules stuck together so the shape doesn't change. Liquid molecules can move all the time and fill the container they are in.
