Term 3

Week 6

We have been celebrating Valentines Day. We have been thinking about all the people we love as well as all the things we love to play and do and the toys we love.

We loved seeing you all at our Curriculum afternoon this week. We hoped you enjoyed our song and the heart biscuits we made.

Have a happy half term.

Week 4

This week we have been exploring ice. Chilly the penguin was feeling homesick so we got some ice to keep him cold. We wanted to try and stop the ice from melting so we decided to investigate the best place to keep the ice.

We tried putting it on the radiator, outside,in salt, in hot water, cold water and in the freezer. All the ice melted except for the ice we put in the freezer and outside.

Elsa heard about our investigations and sent us some special coloured ice to make her an ice palace. They looked amazing!

She also asked us to help her with a problem. By accident she had frozen her toys in ice and needed our help to get them out. We used what we learnt about ice melting to get the toys out. We poured warm water and salt on to the ice and got all her toys back for her.

Week 3

We have had a visitor from someone who comes from a cold place this week. Chilly the penguin has come form Antarctica.

We have been looking after him and making him feel welcome. We have learnt all about penguins. We have discovered that there are lots of different types of penguins and not all of them live in cold places. Some live in warm places too!

We have even learnt how to waddle like penguins and formed a huddle to keep warm!

Week 2

This week we have been learning about cold places and how we can keep warm. We have also been thinking about animals in the cold. We have made some bird feeders and hung them in the trees so the birds will have something to eat this winter. The birds love them and we have already seen lots of birds coming to have something to eat.

Week 1

Welcome back! We hope you all had a restful holiday. It was great to see all the children back, even if it was just for half a day this week.

We had a special treat this week as we went to see a theater show in the hall. We saw the story of The Very Hungry Caterpillar then we sang songs and played some games. We really loved it! Have look at our pictures to see what fun it was.
