Term 3

January 2017

What an amazingly busy term we have had!

In maths, we have been learning about the properties of 2D shapes, e.g., number of sides, corners, lines of symmetry, parallel and perpendicular lines and their angles. We are also about to look at 3D shape names and properties through making a chocolate box.

In science, our topic is States of Matter, where we focus on solids, liquids and gases. In relation to our Chocolate topic, we will be making our own chocolate and discussing reversible and irreversible changes. We carried out as ice cube test last week that investigated where ice would melt the quickest in our classroom.

In English, we are loving the Michael Morpugo book called, Kensuke's Kingdom. We have been making predictions about how Kensuke may have ended up on the island and Cant wait to see what really happens next week!

We we also had a wonderful visit from the Rainforest Man. He not only told us about chocolate pods that grow in the rainforest, but brought real creatures with him, too! Photos to follow ... !
