5 Hazel have been working super hard this term to show their understanding of addition, subtraction, rounding numbers and finding missing angles. They have learnt to recognise the differences between obtuse, acute and reflex angles. The children have used what they know to calculate the missing angle from a right angle or a straight line angle.
In literacy, we have been reading 'The London Eye Mystery' by Siobhan Dowd. So far we've planned and created out mysteries whilst using dialogue and relative clause sentences.
In science, we've been reviewing our understanding of electric circuits to be able to plan and build a shaky hand tester.
Next week is an exciting week as we are visiting the Grand Pier in Weston Super Mare.
Maths - Times Tables Games. The children will know their multiplication target and we would like the practise their tables in the books provided.
Writing - Keeping a journal through the weekend is a great way to practise writing. We've also encouraged the children underline words in books that they don't understand. This way they can use a dictionary to check the meaning.
Reading - Currently, we're half way to reading the height of John Cena. Keep those books coming 5 Hazel!
Science/ Topic- Gather information about fairground/ theme park rides from around the world. Maybe create a fact file of some of the biggest roller coasters in the world!
