23/03/15 On Wednesday this week we had a very exciting day as we had a visit from a story teller. The children loved joining in with his very active songs and stories.  They then worked in pairs to create their own stories which they acted on infront of the whole class. We have also been learning about the story of Easter and how Christains celebrate at this time of year. I hope you all have a very lovely and relaxing Easter holiday!
16/03/15 This week in Elm class we have been learning about the story lost and found.Which is a lovely tale about how a boy and a penguin become friends.  We have designed our own story map which we are learning with actions to help us tell the story. We have also been learning about the different types of penguins and where they live. Some of the children have created their own peguins from collage and junk modelling. Also this week the children have been very excited as our sunflowers have started to grow. Soon we will be able to put them in the school garden for everyone to enjoy.

13/03/15 This week in Elm class we have been learning the story of the Three Billy Goats Gruff. We have been working in teams to build bridges for the goats and creating our own music to fit with the story. We have carried on our love for music in the forest this week by using a creating musical instruments. Below are a few videos of the children creating their own tunes. It has also been Red Nose Day this week all of the children have designed and created their own red nose from salt dough. Hope you all have a lovely weekend and all the mummys have a very relaxing Mother's Day!!

02/03/15 This week we have been learning the story of Jack and the beanstalk. We have been hot seating different characters from the story and writing thought bubbles about what the character might have been think at the time. Also this week we had World Book Day all of the children looked fantastic in their costumes. We also made bookmark with their pictures and drawings on which I hope everyone will be able to use.

27/02/15 This term we are learning about our favourite stories. This week we have been learning the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. We have been learning about capacity by using porridge to fill different sized bowls. We have also been recreating the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bear with finger puppets which we made oursleves. We also now have a fantastic bear display which the children have created.
