As I'm sure everyone at home knows; our painting has gone missing! we fond some muddy footprints and some flowers had been knocked over. We received an email with pictures of some of our favourite characters holding our painting! We still don't know who did it.

In Art we have been painting Van Gogh's chair, it was tricky to draw it 3d.
This week we have been focusing on place value. We have been using money and numicon to split up numbers.
27= 20 + 7
55= 50 + 5
We found this very very tricky to begin with but we have finally cracked it!

In numeracy we have been adding 10 to any number. We problem solved the answer doesn’t always end in zero, it depends on which number you start with.
We have also been doing missing number sums to test our brains.
e.g. 24 + ? = 34
? + 17 = 27
42 = 2 + ?
We need to remember that the = is a balance.
We had great fun dressing up on World Book Day and drawing pictures of our characters. We had lots of fun at Bedtime Stories!
This week we had a parcel arrive in the post, it contained a very valuable picture of someone. We looked closely at the picture and tried to decide who it was and who had made it.
For home learning we found out that it was Vincent Van Gogh! We had found out lots and lots of facts about him, but we still wanted to know more. We used our question openers (who, what, when, where, why, how) to think up more things we wanted to know.
Today we heard all about his life, we found out that Vincent Van Gogh was around the same time that our school was built in 1885. We wrote a fact file which is going into our Van Gogh books. We will be showing these in Curriculum afternoon.
In numeracy we have been counting in 10's from zero and also seeing what happens if we start from a different number using a 100 square.
Miss Barker has been playing a new game with us, here is the link. It is great for practising 10s and 2s.
