For science we carried out an experiment to see what happened to our pulse when we did exercise. We had to come up with our own questions and answer them.

On Tuesday Dr Whitcomb came into school and he taught us lots of things about the brain. We learnt that every part of the brain works in a different way. Dr Whitcomb was impressed with our knowledge!
We are reading a new book by Michael Murpurgo called Kensuke's Kingdom. In Literacy we wrote a balanced argument about whether he should sail around the world or not.

In PE we have been developing our over arm throwing for cricket.
Week beginning 27th April
In literacy we have been improving sentences. We had to identify noun phrases and make them more exciting. We also wrote a explanation text about the digestive system.

In science this week we got into different teams to plan an experiment for next week.
Week Beginning 20th April
We wrote letters to Dr Whitcomb. Dr Whitcomb is a Brain scientist who travels all over the world to find out more about brains. We are writing letters to him because our new topic is 'What happens inside us?' and we thought it would be interesting to find out about the brain.
In maths we were looking at shape, including angles and different types of shapes. We had to sort shapes in Carroll diagrams and Venn diagrams.
In topic we had to draw around someone and find out where the different parts of the digestive system belong and draw them in. We also found other parts of our bodies.
In science we were looking at the digestive system and Miss Shreeves showed us what happens to our food as it goes through the digestive system.
We have been doing regular exercises as part of our topic.
Professor Lesley and the exploratorium came to visit us!
