Term 5 is all about Growth!
This Term's Talk for Writing text is Oliver's Vegetables, do have a look for it in the library!
We will be having a visit to The Farm this term, where we will be learning about the importance of sustainability and how we can all grow our own food. We will have a sign up sheet for this visit at the start of the term.
We are hoping to do a bit of planting and observational drawings of our plants this term. If you have spare pots or compost please donate them to us, they will be received with open arms!
We have put up a sign-up sheet for Forest School, please volunteer if you are available. It would be great to go every week.
If you have time, you can find out about an interesting plant and make a model of it or draw a labelled picture of it.
Hope you are having/have had a lovely holiday!
We have loved learning about different things that grow. We have looked at the life cycle of butterflies whilst making a beautiful display of each stage, we are also due to get some live caterpillars too! We have also learnt how to plant seeds and are growing some beans at the moment, hopefully they will not get over watered in the classroom!
The children have looked at a variety of books including Oliver's Vegetables and Wangari's Tree of Peace. Next week we will be reading One Plastic Bottle and looking at different ways we can help take care of our world.
