Term 6

End of Term!

We have come to the end of another year and what a fantastic year it has been!

I would like to say thank you to all the children for their hard work and making me laugh on a regular basis! Also thank you to all our parents who have been so supportive.

It is sad to say goodbye to the children but they are all ready to move to their  Reception Classes. We have to say good bye and good luck to Mrs Moral who is expecting her baby any day now.

We have been busy right up to the last moment. We went to the end of year service in the playground and talked about what we love about our school and last week we went to to Forest School. Lots of the children said this was their favourite activity at Nursery.

Week 4

We have been doing lots of science this week. On Monday we had a Science Day. We did lots of experiments. We fired a balloon along a string, made stripey drinks, explored magnets and made silver foil boats.

We also have been learning about floating and sinking as part of our topic on water. We made our own boats and tested them out to see if they would float.

Ms Loosley told us about the time she went on a boat trip but dropped her bag in the water. We had to guess what objects in the bag we thought would float and what we thought would sink. Then we tested out our predictions. We tried to work out why somethings would float and some things sank.

Week 3

Following on from our fantastic trip to Weston we have been thinking about the sea and what creatures live in the sea. We have done some fantastic marbelling with oil, paint and water and then used the marbelled paper to make some under the sea pictures. We also explored  the sensory room and pretended we were swimming under the sea.

Week 2

What an exciting week! We had a wonderful trip to Weston-Super-Mare! The sun shone and despite the weather forecast we had no rain!

We all had a great time playing on the beach. We had our own section of the beach with lots of buckets and spades and toys to play with. We  had an ice cream too!

Thank you to all the parents that came with us. It really made the trip special having so many of you with us.

Have a look at our pictures.

Week 1

Welcome back!

We are very excited about our trip to Weston Super Mare next week. We started to learn all about the sea side. We have an ice cream parlour in the classroom. We have been thinking about what creatures live at the beach and learning all about rock pools. We even have our own rock pool in the class! We have made some wonderful rock pool pictures and have made up some amazing stories to go with them. Have a look at the display outside our class to read them.

We have said good bye to our butterflies too. The caterpillars we looked after came out of their cocoons as beautiful butterflies. Mrs Knights' class let them out and they fluttered away into our garden.
