Term 6

Welcome to Term 6 !

4Cherry have has such an eventful week already and have an exciting last term to look forward to!

On Monday, we had two visitors from Uganda, Child of Hope School. We learned that Bex and Moses have worked really hard in Uganda to make sure that the children go to school. They told us the story of Priscilla and what a typical school day for her is like. Priscilla has to do a lot of house work before leaving for school and get herself ready without anyone's help. Her class size is much larger than ours, too.

Bex and Moses also showed us how the people of Uganda have to pick their own foods and carry heavy amounts in bowls on their heads. We had the chance to balance bowls too - it was not as easy as it looks! See our photos! We also got to see actual artefacts from Uganda such as bracelets, purses and drums.

In maths, we have learned all about Commutative and Distributive Laws! In English, we have been acting out a silent movie for The Village that Vanished. We also wrote a letter to explain future plans for the village.

In art we have designed our own African baskets which will eventually make out of clay!
