Term 6 Week 2
It has been an excellent start to Term 6 for Sycamore class. As per usual, they have thrown themselves into all of the learning and have continued their good progress from the previous terms.
This term is a busy one! As it's the children's last term at SMR, they have been hard at word practising the end of year play - Matilda! Furthermore, the children have started to learn about Japan as a part of their new topic.
Mr Fry and Miss Shreeves will award anyone 200 house points if they can count from 1-10 in Japanese! They must come and see us to share their counting.
We're nearly there! The end of primary school is drawing closer for Year 6 and we are beginning to look ahead to secondary school. In the meantime, however, there's still lots of learning to pack in!
Having had a fantastic SATs week, we are now focusing on our writing, making sure it is the best it can be so that we can show what we can do. To help with this, we will be writing about Global Warming and the problems surrounding plastics in the oceans.
We will also be beginning to work on our end of year play... We don't know what it is yet but we know it's going to be amazing!
Finally, as part of the whole school's work on different countries, we will be learning about China and what makes this fascinating country unique.
