Well another exciting week in Juniper Class. Some of our highlights this week are:

  • Learning to print in art.
  • Practising our songs and learning our dance for the play.
  • Writing our stories about But Martin. We had Martin doing really strange things like sitting on Miss Paynes head!
  • Writing our 'hope for the world' to go on the Christmas tree at the church.
  • Helping Discovery Dog with a maths problem. We had 4 numbers only that we could use and we had to find as many answers as possible!
  • We have improved so much at football, we are much more accurate at passing now!
  • We earned our class treat, our marble jar was full! We had a great time this afternoon playing in the KS2 playground and having a go on their equipment.

We have settled into year 1 so well, Miss Dudding is very proud of us all.

This week we have been helping discovery dog to solve some problems. The question was:

' Does the tallest person in the class have the longest arms?'

We made predictions and thought of ideas about how we could solve this. We used cubes, lolly sticks, string and lots more items to measure our arms. We then used paper to measure the length of our arms. We got in order of height and then decided if the tallest person had the longest arms. Guess what... it wasn't true! Come and have a look at our wonderful display of us solving the maths problem.

The new area in the playground is great. We have been playing circus games and been learning to juggle. We have been working hard to share and work as a team when playing games.

This afternoon we learnt a funny song called BBQ Blues!

This week we have been learning a story called '' You'll soon grow into them Titch''. (Nadiya)

We have learnt the story map of Titch and made up actions to help us. (Louis)

Some of us went to football club on Wednesday lunch time. We had a good time and it was funny. (Dominic)

We played some more parachute games. My favourite game was when we tried to get the ball off/ (Freddie)

We opened our role play corner this week. We made a shoe shop and we can buy shoes and measure feet. (Maeve)

We have be learning the sounds 'ch' 'sh'  'th' and 'ng'. We were putting words into sentences. (Louis)

We practise our sentences by stamping, clapping, shouting and whispering as we say them. (Nadiya)

We made a tent out of the parachute. (Kai)

We have a new area of the playground which we went in today. (Joby)
