Our Visit from Marvin Rees

Today we had a visit from Marvin Rees. Some Year 6 children gave him a tour of the school and then we had a special assembly where we asked Marvin Rees some questions.

The children asked some brilliant questions including:

- The problems I've noticed in Bristol are homelessness and pollution. How are you going to solve these issues?

-In Black History Month we learnt about Mo Farah and Bob Marley, who inspired you when you were younger?

-How do you become a powerful politician?

-What advise would you give the children at SMR?

What a fantastic World Book Day!

A huge thank you to everyone for a fantastic day! Everyone made such an effort with their costumes and enjoyed a busy day celebrating books and raising money for those who are less fortunate.

Some children had an opportunity to read and meet Bristol Bears Rugby Players which was a real treat.

Thank you to the PTA who supported the Book At Bedtime, the children enjoyed cosy story time with blankets, teddies and hot chocolates!

We will let you know how much we raise for Book Aid. Enjoy the photos!

Thank you to everyone for taking part in the Eisteddfod celebrations!

We have had a busy day creating love spoons, baking welsh cakes and hosting our first Eisteddfod Show.

Congratulations to our winners Gulia, Annie, Milly and Jemima. A huge congratulations to all the children who took part.
