Local Board Structure
The Full Local Board (FLB) consists of all board members and meets once every term, or 6 times a year. Members also visit the school regularly to meet with the staff and monitor the learning environment. The members have individual roles and responsibilities including statutory areas such as health and safety and safeguarding, and subject areas such as English, Maths and Science.
The Local Board currently organises itself into two committees with focus areas.
Achievement, Staffing and Curriculum Committee (ASC)
This committee looks at the whole school experience of the children, monitoring and evaluating the quality of teaching and learning. The committee monitors attainment levels to make sure that children are making progress towards their targets, and also evaluates the curriculum to ensure it adheres to the National Curriculum and represents the schools diversity. It also oversees recruitment, the staffing structure of the school, and monitors wellbeing of both staff and pupils.
Infrastructure Committee (IC)
This committee monitors expenditure throughout the year, recommending budget allocation and ensuring spend complies with the academies financial regulations and audit requirements. The committee is also responsible for the quality of the school premises and learning environment for both pupils and staff. This includes health and safety, new building work and on-going maintenance.
