What is Sports Premium Funding?
The government have provided additional funding to improve provision of physical education (PE) and sport in primary schools. This funding is provided jointly by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport and will be allocated to primary school headteachers.
This funding is ring-fenced and therefore can only be spent on provision of PE and sport in schools. Schools with 17 or more eligible pupils receive £16,000 plus £10 per pupil for years R to 6. Therefore the total budget is £19,500.
At St. Mary Redcliffe C of E Primary we are committed to providing children with opportunities to take part in excellent physical education in school with access to high quality equipment and expert coaching. We aim to offer a diverse range of after-school activities alongside opportunities for our children to compete against others locally and nationally.
