Another great week of learning. This week we have really enjoyed designing and making shelters to keep Pebble warm based on our class text Lubna and Pebble. We wrote sentences about something we wanted on our own pebbles and created a piece of class art work that is on display in our reading corner. We have also written messages to the characters and hidden them in our classroom for our teachers to find.
Have a good week.

Week Beginning 27th September
A highlight of this week has been in science where we have continued to learn about our senses. We linked our senses to body parts and we also used our sense of smell to identify what were in pots. Some of the smells we like and some we did not. The smells included onions, honey and toothpaste.
In PE we have been practicing jumping in different ways from the equipment and earning how to take off and land safely every time we jump.
Anther great week of learning in 1 Hawthorn.
We have enjoyed reading our new class text Stardust and we loved spotting different animals hidden in the illustrations.
In math we have been sorting objects into different categories such as colour, type and size.
In science we have been learning the names for all our body parts and have been playing a fun game called Simon says to help us remember the correct names.
In PE we have been continuing learning Gymnastics and have been exploring ways to move across the equipment and jumping in different ways. We now know the names of 3 different jumps.
Have a good weekend

Week Beginning 06/09/21
What a great start to the year! The children have loved being back and have a lot of energy and joy though I am sure they are very tired now that it is the end of the week!
We have been so busy working on Art, Science, English, Maths and History. It has been great going back into school assemblies and the children have loved singing assemblies in particular.
Some of the highlights have been learning new songs, performing different jumps in PE and of course starting our self portraits which will be eventually be displayed in the classroom.
