On Thursday, with Mrs.H we drew self portraits using sketching pencils and colouring pencils.

We had our marble reward and watched a movie and ate popcorn. It was cool!

We also had fun trying the hoop challenge. Two fingers only!!

In 5 Lime this week we learnt how to make pizzas. In Science we drew life cycles of animals and created posters. We are reading 'Wonder' and acted out some drama and pretended to be characters in the story. In maths we know how to round to 10 and 100 and next week we will round to a 1000. Every day we get to eat bagels for morning snack so our brains are ready to go! We also wrote our own stories.

Pizza making

Welcome back!

It has been great to meet the children in Year 5 and we are all looking forward to an exciting year together. The children have settled into their new classrooms and routines really well and we are already feeling proud of how much they are growing in confidence every day.

For the first three weeks we will be concentrating on our ‘recovery curriculum’ which includes PSHE and Wellbeing lessons as well as opportunities to engage with mindfulness and learn about developing a growth mind set.

This term PPA will be on a Thursday afternoon and covered by Mrs.H and Mr.Germain.

PE will be on a Monday and Wednesday. Please ensure your child comes to school dressed in their PE kit with a plain white T-shirt, black shorts and trainers. Children may also need a school jumper and a coat.

Your child will choose a book from the class library as well as a levelled book from the Oxford Reading Buddy. Please encourage your child to read at home and feel free to ask if you need any support. Once they are returned, books will be quarantined before being redistributed.
