Week 6- 5.12.21-10.12.21
This week we have been getting more festive as we have had the pleasure of watching dress rehearals for EYFS and KS1 nativity plays. I was lovely to see our bothers, sisters and friends performing so brilliantly!
We have also been lucky enough to be treated to a Rock Steady concert showcasing the musical talent of Rock stead members. The groups played rock classics such as 'We Will Rock You' and Another Brick In the Wall!
Week 5 29.11.21-3.12.21
This week marks the start of Advent to celebrated this we had a whole school advent day. We reminded ourselves of the symbolise of the advent wreath. We then designed our own symbols for hope, peace, joy and love.
We also created our own Hiaku poems about Christmas/advent. See some below:
22.11.21-26.11.21- Week 4
This we In DT we have created nets. We had to design a habitat for a toy of our choice. Creating nets is quite tricky as there is lots of mathematical elements involved and all measurements need to be accurate. See below some of our nets:
Week 3- 15.1.21-19.11.21
This week, as part of our Science top, we visited Windmill Hill Farm. We looked at classifying living things/plants, tasted some herbs, looked at the wormery and fed/stroked some of the animals. It was a great opportunity to see our learning in action in an urban farm so close to our school! See below some pictures form our visit:
Week 2- 8.11.21-12.11.21
This week was our first Forest school session on this term! We had lots of fun safely climbing trees and looking at the beautiful autumnal patterns and colours. We used these to create mandala patterns, you can see some creations below!
We hope you all had an enjoyable half term and are ready for Term 2. Both Year 4 classes have made a great start this week, including classifying living organisms in Science and beginning our new class book Kensuke's Kingdom in English lessons.
PPA cover will still be on a Wednesday afternoon this term and children will be taught DT and Spanish by Mrs H and Mr Dwyer.
We will be continuing to go swimming on Friday afternoon. On swimming days, children will need to bring their swimwear and a towel into school in a named bag. For boys this will include swimming trunks or shorts (not longer than knee length). Girls should wear a one-piece costume. Children with hair that is shoulder length or longer should bring a swim-hat or hair-band. Children may bring goggles if they use them normally and no earrings or jewelry should be worn in the pool.
We will be walking to and from the swimming pool and therefore children will need a raincoat and appropriate shoes.
PE on Thursday mornings will be outside Forest School activities. Children will need a suitable coat and wellies if you have them.
