Term 2

Luka wanted to say - we have new Oxford reading books! There is also a new reading scheme and way to read online. Get reading!

"The Firework Maker's Daughter by Phillip Pullman has been a really good book and inspiring," said Oli.

"In Maths, we have been learning about BODMAS and it has turned out to be very fun," explained Yusuf.

"In Art, we watched a video about the Northern Lights and Mrs H taught us to draw what we saw," Joby enthused.

"In Computing, we were coding so we were writing instructions for Mr Germain to do and made a video of instructions for another group," said Ggiven, wisely.

"On Tuesday, we came in as our favourite book character and we had a variety of different book characters and words," remembered Tiegan.

"In RE, we were reflecting on what we all believed about the world: the good and bad things about it," added Lucan.

"In music, we have been learning new musical notes and beats, finding out which rhythm goes with which place in Bristol," sang Issy.

We are nearly ready for Term 2 and what a term it will be!

We will have a science focus this term around the subject of 'light'. To this end, we will be investigating how light travels and is reflected. We will use the amazing book 'The Firework Maker's Daughter' in English and see how light can be used in some very creative ways...

In maths, we will be moving on to look at movement and geometry so it will be chocks away with the protractors and rulers.

In art, we will see how the incredible Northern Lights are formed and have a go at painting some of the beautiful patterns that appear.

13th December

This week we learned how to defend coastal towns from sea erosion in our geography day.

In English, we have been finding out about formal and informal language and learning about standard English - very useful for life!

In maths, we have been learning to plot co-ordinates and find fractions of amounts.
