Term 3

Welcome back!

We hope that you had a restful holiday and are looking forward to the new year. There are a few timetable changes this term:

  • PE will now be on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Children should come to school on these days dressed in their PE kit, which consists of a Plain White T Shirt and Black Tracksuit Bottoms, Leggings or Shorts. When the weather is cold, children may wear a school jumper over their kit if they wish.
  • PPA will be on Tuesdays and we will have a coach from Bristol Sport providing specialist PE instruction.

Reading in and out of school

Thank you for your continued support with reading. Research has shown that reading and literacy is important in improving your life chances and educational opportunities. We check each pupil's reading diary regularly and it is great to see how often they are making their own notes of what they have read either independently or with an adult.

Your child will choose a book from the class library as well as a levelled book from the Oxford Reading Buddy. Please encourage your child to read at home and feel free to ask if you need any support. Once they are returned, books will be quarantined before being redistributed.

Our class story for the next two terms will be 'Goodnight Mister Tom' by Michelle Magorian.
