We had another busy week in 2 Hazel!
Hasam – We looked at odd and even numbers and division. 11 is an odd number.
Ruba - We did a hot task in maths I did really well and much better than last time.
Jay Jay – We have been reading a book called Emily’s Surprising voyage. It is about a girl who doesn’t want to go on the SS Great Britain but her nanny drags her on!
Anna – We drew the suspension bridge using art pencils.
Zahra – In computing we learnt how to be safe when we are on the internet.
Jonathan – If you are scared when you are on the internet then tell a trusted adult!
Gene – Never tell anyone your full name on the internet.
Amos – Never tell anyone your age, birthday or where you live.
We had an amazing time visiting the SS Great Britain!
Ruba – We went to the SS Great Britain. It was really exciting. On the boat we saw cows and pigs. On the real SS Great Britain there were loads of different farm animals.
Zahra – We went into the museum and went inside Brunel’s mind! Smoke came out and it was fun but a bit scary!
Melina came to our class and told us that SS Great Britain was so big that it did not fit of the harbour!
Grace – In maths we learnt what division means – it means sharing equally!
Jonathan - 15 divided by 3 makes 5!
In PE we have been learning a special dance ready for dance fest! WE are going to peform to a big audience soon!
This week in 2 Hazel we have been… learning about Brunel. We have been writing reports about his life and his work. We are very much looking forward to our trip to the S.S Great Britain next Thursday!
In Maths this week we have been learning how to multiply. We have used arrays to help us.
In Science we have been learning about the different properties of materials. We played a game to help us classify different materials.
In P.E we have been practising a dance in preparation for our performance.
We have also been practising our handwriting and learning spellings.
The children were excited that Isambard Kingdom Brunel was able to visit the school to answer their questions!
They children asked lots of interesting question and then later in the week wrote him a letter to thank him for his visit and to tell him all the interesting things they have learnt about him.
Brunel is in the Building!
