What a busy term we have had in Term 4
This Term we have been learning about Vincent Van Gogh as part of our topic 'Let's get Creative.'
In English we read the story Camille and the Sunflowers and discovered more about Vincent's life.
As part of our DT we were very exited to receive a letter from a museum asking us to design, make and evaluate a bag that visitors could use. It had to be able to fit a map and a leaflet inside. We then took inspiration from Vincent's paintings to decorate our bags.
We have learnt many new skills to support our bag making including, joining materials, evaluating different types of bags and developed our maths skills to help us measure and compare lengths of objects.
In Maths we have been learning to find a half and a quarter of numbers and shapes.
' I have learnt how to join material using staple, glue and thread."
" Vincent Van Gogh use lots of bright colours such as yellow and blue."
"In the story Camille in the Sunflowers Vincent came to live in Camille's village and painted the tall, burning sunflowers."
"I know that a half has to be slit into 2 equal parts."
"A quarter has to be split into 4 equal parts."
We hope you have a lovely Easter holiday and see you in Term 5
