Term 4 Let's get creative

Welcome back to term 4! We hope you had a relaxing break and are ready for another fantastic term.

We are continuing our learning about WWII and reading the book ‘Goodnight Mr Tom’, which the children are really enjoying.

We are delighted to announce our trip to the Great Westen Railway in Winchcombe, Tewksbury for an Evacuee experience.

We will be participating in an evacuee experience. Children will go on a train journey. As well as the steam train experience, the range of activities encompasses a presentation by Museum staff, air raid shelter with sound effects, firefighting with hoses, singsong, spy arrest and talks by real evacuees.

Below is a Knowledge Organiser, please use this to find out about all the other exciting projects your child will be undertaking this term. To prepare your child for the start of the term please refer to the vocabulary section and discuss the meaning of the words with your child.

PPA will be on Wednesday morning and covered by Mrs.H and Mr. Germain. PE will remain on a Monday and Friday.

Mapping in Year 5

Today we compared two different maps of Bristol. The first map was drawn in 1903 and we compared it to an OS map. We located our house, street, school, Victoria Park, Clifton Suspension bridge and many other landmarks of Bristol. We also drew a key and symbols to help us read the map.

Next week 6 figure grid references!
