PE - Tuesday
Forest School - Wednesday
PPA - Thursday am
This week we have been learning about Spain and enjoyed a lovely Spanish story called,
'A Taste of the Moon'. We enjoyed another trip to Forest school, worked hard on maths using number lines and numicon and did some fantastic writing using our phonics.
On Friday we celebrated the end of term with a special day all about friendship. We learnt about how talking kindly makes us feel and that sometimes something said in an unkind way can hurt or 'scratch ' our feelings. To help us remember this we thought that kind words feel soft like cotton wool and harsh words are more scratchy like sandpaper.
We had a lovely friendship picnic with our teddies and our friends in EYFS and enjoyed a healthy wrap !
Happy holidays !
Week 5 : This week we have been learning about China. Anansi brought us the book 'Giant and the Enchanted Forest ' all about a panda called Giant whose bamboo forest home is under threat. We also learnt about shapes and made shape animals.
This week we have been learning about India. We read the book 'Monsoon' , made chapatis, learned about some animals including the beautiful peacock and listened to some Indian sitar music. In our maths sessions we have been learning to add two single digit numbers together and practising our adding in our Indian market place role play area.
In week 2 our learning has been based around the book, 'All Aboard for the Bobo Road'
We have listened and danced to the music of Burkina Faso, created art work based on the book and thought about what we would take on a bus journey in our writing.
In maths we have been working on one more and one less as well as adding totals.
We all really enjoyed our first Forest School outing! We had a great time climbing and exploring, hunting for plants and making homes for our puppets.
