Term 5- Here we go!
Welcome back, we hope you have had a restful and lovely Easter break!
This term our topic with be based around mountains with a particular focus on eco-tourism on mountains. We will even be creating out own mountain models so watch this space!!

Please ensure your child comes to school dressed in their PE kit with a plain white T-shirt, black shorts and trainers. Children may also need a school jumper and a coat.

Week 6- 24.5.21-28.5.21
English- persuasive scripts.
This week we have used persuasive devices to help encourage others to protect humans, animals, plants and trees living on mountains.
Whilst working in groups we used rhetorical questions, emotive language, superlatives to create powerful messages to create our own advertisement campaign. Here are a few pictures of our scripts:

Week 5- 17.5.21-21.5.21
Wow, what a week!
Year 4 have had the privilege of attending Bikability sessions this week. The children have completed a level 1 course and ill receive their certificates in due course, congratulations!
Some children have actually learnt how to ride a bike for the first time. They have shown perseverance and determination so well done those children!!
In science this week we explored static electricity, hence the crazy hair-dos below!! We explore positive and negative charges and how this allowed us to pick up pieces of paper with a balloon due to the energy created!
Week 4- Week Commencing 10.5.21
It has been another busy week this week and a week full of Eid celebrations for our Muslim community!
This week we added finishing touches to our mountain ranges, which we made from ModRoc and paper mache. This was a fun and creative task allowing us to think about the formation of volcanic and glacial mountains. The children thought carefully about how to form U/V shaped valleys, lakes, peaks and vegetation lines.
This week we have been exploring series circuits. We looked at how to make a light bulb light up and worked out how to incorporate a switch into our circuits. We then went on to draw these using scientific symbols. See below some of our work:
