Term 6

Week 1:

Welcome back!

this term we are going to be talking about Recycling, Reusing and reducing.

We have had a lovely story about how we can make changes into our daily routine so we can help saving planet Earth.

Big Earth, Little Me

We have been very busy making junk modelling, kids have been super creative using all the cardboard and plastic that we normally put in the recycling box.

We have also made recycled paper with newspaper, water, food colouring and flowers.

Children have made a face using newspaper, straws and plastic lids and also we have made space rockets with toilet rolls and newspapers.

Kids are loving this topic and we we will really appreciated if you can bring some empty boxes, plastic containers, empty toilet rolls or any other containers that you normally put in the recycling box.

We also enjoying the water play outside, please send your kid to nursery with some spare clothes so we can get them change if they get too wet.smiley

Have a lovely weekend.

Term 6- week 2

This week we have had 2 stories Oliver's Vegetable and Oliver's Milkshake.

Oliver's  Vegetables

Oliver's Milkshake

We have been learning about how fruits and vegetables have seeds and how those can be planted so we can reuse them and get some more food from them . We have been talking about caring for plants and what do they need to survive.

A few weeks ago we planted some vegetables and kids have been amazing at watering them and keeping them healthy. They are looking really happy!

After the story on Tuesday, children have been picking up vegetables, extracting the seeds, chopping them and making them into a tasty soup! yummy!

On Thursday, we did they same with fruits, we extracted the seeds and put them aside to plant them next week and we blended them into a tasty milkshake.

We have been making cards for our family and kids have been very creative using recyclable materials to make new objects.

At forest school we made flower crowns, kids used sharpened sticks to make holes into a long strip of cardboard and then they threaded handpicked flowers from the park, we found lots of daisies and buttercups!

We had a fun day of  multicolour soapy water play on Friday! smiley#

Have a lovely weekend

Week 3

This week we have learnt about Greta Thunberg.

Here the link to the story:

We have made trees: practicing our cutting skills and we used cork to stamp circular shapes onto the tree cut out, then they added leaves and a brown paper for tree trunk, we then made a forest, Children have been learning about how important is to look after planet Earth and to protect the trees.

We made a sign post and we went on a protest around the school to the chant of " Stop cutting the trees down" after watching a sort video of Greta on one of the protest she has done.

We have been enjoying the weather and doing lots of water play in the garden too.

Kids have been really good at watering our vegetables and we used the seeds from last week to plant new ones!

We are becoming really good gardeners!

Have a nice weekend
